Included with admission to the Seaport Museum is entrance to the Becuna and the Olympia, two decommissioned US Navy watercraft. Exit the museum and walk south along the waterfront to visit the boats.
The Olympia “is the oldest steel warship afloat in the world.” She was decommissioned in 1922, but saw action in the Spanish-American War and World War I.
The Becuna, meanwhile, is a submarine that was used during World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and the Cold War. The interior is interesting, but be warned – the spaces are small, and if you’re claustrophobic, have mobility problems or have a stroller, you might want to skip this one.
