What Betsy's Buzz does
Betsy's Buzz (betsysbuzz.com) is a guide to bees, honey and bee-friendly gardens. Each page tries to answer one question a curious beginner has: what do I need, what do the rules say, what should I ask before I buy.
"Betsy" is a brand voice, not a person's biography. Nothing on this site claims that anyone here keeps bees or has tested a product. We read, compare and explain, and we say whose statement each fact is.
How the guides are made
- Sources first. Facts come from university extension services, government and nonprofit pages, and, where we describe a product, from the maker's or seller's own page. Each guide lists its sources and the date we checked them.
- Maker claims stay claims. When a seller says its product does something, we attribute it to the seller.
- Regional means regional. Much beekeeping advice depends on where you live. When a source is written for one state or region, we say which, and we tell you to check your own.
- No prices, no star ratings. Prices change and ratings belong to the store.
- When we aren't sure, we leave it out or say "check your local rules."
What Betsy's Buzz doesn't do
- We don't sell anything. There's no store, no cart and no order support. We link out, and purchases happen on the other site under its terms.
- We don't give medical advice. For stings and allergies, talk to a doctor. See sting allergy before you keep bees.
- We don't give legal advice. For beekeeping rules, ask your state apiary office. See is beekeeping legal where I live?
- We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by any maker or seller named on the site.
- We don't make health claims about honey or any other bee product.
